Flower-Visiting Insects
of Possumhaw

Viburnum nudum (Possumhaw)
(Insect activity is mostly unspecified, both nectar and pollen are available as floral rewards. Observations are from Lovell, who sometimes referred to this shrub as Viburnum cassinoides; this latter scientific name is considered a synonym of Viburnum nudum cassinoides, therefore Lovell's observations have been assigned to Viburnum nudum. Lovell listed a European fly, Sapromyza longipennis, as a floral visitor of this shrub, which is incorrect; this fly may be Minettia lobata or another Minettia sp.)
